MateDub (1/1-31/12/2020) and MateDub++ (1/1-31/12/2021) were funded by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union. The projects led to the creation of two web-based tools, Matesub and Matedub, which are now released by Translated.
Matesub supports professionals in the creation of subtitles for audiovisual documents. It generates subtitling suggestions through a processing pipeline which concatenates three main modules, based on neural models: an automatic speech recognition system, a text segmenter and a neural machine translation system. Matedub supports the professional dubbing of audiovisual documents.
The role of the MT group was to create the speech translation and subtitling AI pipelines integrated into the tools.
